Animal Man series ending

Jeff Lemire announced that Animal Man will be coming to an end in March. The last issue, #29, will be in March. Since it is the last issue of the series, Lemire said that he will both write and draw the final issue along with Travel Foreman. Animal Man was one of my favorite comics that DC was putting out, but it's better to see it end than to see a new writer on the series.

Superman has been around for 75 years! Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 April 18, 1938. That makes Superman the first superhero created! DC has been celebrating with us by releasing more series and releasing Man of Steel. They also celebrated at Comic-Con this year by throwing a party and showing things like costumes from previous movies. Here is an animated clip showing superman's history.

Another DC TV show!

A couple of days ago, the show "Gotham" was announced by Fox. Well, Deadline announces that NBC is making a show based on John Constantine, an occult detective in the DC universe. Looks like DC is trying to get many TV shows to make up for their lack of movies. I hope the TV show is better than 2005 movie based on the same character.

New show called "Gotham"

Fox has announced a new drama based on Gotham City, without Batman! The show is supposed to be based on Commissioner James Gordon and the rest of the GCPD before Batman was around. I'm kind of interested in seeing a cop show with some Batman villains. It might work.

Williams and Blackman leave "Batwoman"

After some serious editorial changes, "Batwoman" writers J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman have announced they are leaving the series after issue 26. Apparently, they were prohibited from writing about Batwoman getting married with her girlfriend, Maggie.

"Unfortunately, in recent months, DC has asked s to alter or completely discard many long-standing storylines in ways that we feel compromise the character and the series. we were told to ditch plans for Killer Croc's origins; forced to drastically alter the original ending of the current arc, which would have defined Batwoman's  heroic future in bold new ways; and, most crushingly, prohibited from ever showing Kate and Maggie actually getting married. All of these editorial decisions came at the last minute, and as always after a year or more of planning and plotting on our end" stated the creative team.

It isn't the first time DC has lost writers because of editorial changes. DC should change editors or give writers more freedom with their series.

Buccellato and Manapul leave "The Flash"

After 3 years of working on "The Flash", Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul confirmed they're leaving the series after issue #25.

"We were REALLY honored to have the opportunity to usher Barry, Iris, Patty, Lenny, Forrest into the New 52. We've lived and breathed Barry and are sorely gonna miss him, but after 3 years and over 30 issues (annuals, zero, Villains Month), we felt it was time to Move Forward and take on a new creative challenge", stated by the creative team.

I really enjoyed their run on "The Flash" and am disappointed that they are leaving. "The Flash" became one of my favorite series when they started working on it. Even though they are leaving the series, they said they would still be working with DC. I hope their next series is just as good as "The Flash".
